Cecilia just called me at 9:30 p.m. - she had surgery today at 1:00 p.m.  What a woman...  She said that the surgeon came in last night and said that she wanted to do surgery, that she didn't think it was gonna resolve itself at this point.  So Cece asked to get on the surgery schedule for today to get it over with.    She put up a good fight to let the obstruction resolve itself, but was still throwing up evening with the NG tube.

Everything went well.  They had to do a resection of a couple of inches of the intestine that was pretty damaged from scar tissue (adhesions).  She is in a lot of pain, as expected - gosh she just got out of surgery like 8 hrs ago!!  I will talk with her again tomorrow.  It was a short chat tonight.

Let's keep Cece in our prayers and thoughts.

Wow, she sure has been through alot lately. It must be a good sign she was able to call so quickly after surgery. She is in my thoughts and I hope she is able to get out of the hospital soon.

Hopefully now she can be on the mend and get out of the hospital soon! She fought a good fight, sorry to hear they had to resort to surgery. I hope she feels better every day and gets home soon and back on the boards. Thanks Peggy for keeping us posted--tell her we are all thinking about her!

Peggy,
Been thinking alot about Cecilia and know she but up a good fight to let things resolve it self. She has to be a really strong person to go threw all she's been threw. I'm so glad she's had the sergery and will be home where she can get better faster.

Sounds like she was in a good hospital where they took good care of here. She" lucky to have you to talk too. I know that has got to help her alot.

Those darn abhesins can really cause us alot of problems as that is what happened to me. I was in the hospital six days with a blockage it my small intestine and ended up with my ileostomy. I was in the hospital two weeks and was so happy to get home.

Thanks again Jan,

Update on Cece--  I spoke to her earlier this evening and she is in good spirits.  She hasn't spoken to her surgeon yet but will (and probably has by now).  She said her ostomy was back to functioning.  They put a picc line in Tuesday evening so she had TPN for about 12 hours before her surgery.  She was getting ready to walk for the first time post surgery right after we spoke.  She has a really positive attitude and I expect that she will be out in a few days.  She said that the pain she is having from the surgery is pretty bad, but she has a pain pump and is using it!!  I told her not to be too brave no matter how bad she wants out of the hospital and to keep the pain at bay for a few days.  I can't wait to hear the update after she talks to her surgeon.   Just thought you all might like  to hear what's going on.

Thanks for keeping us up to date, Peggy. We all are so concerned about CeCe . I hope she can feel our prayers!! Of course she should push the button whenever she hurts. It will not give you too much medicine-so push away.

Thank you guys for the posts --- I've been reading them to Cece over the phone when I talk to her.  She is so touched that you all are praying for her and keeping her in your thoughts.  I didn't hear from her this evening, so I will call her tomorrow to get an update and check on her.

SLICE --  Cece busted out laughing at your post!
