I have had my stoma for nearly a year and a half; a few months ago, I developed a hernia and periodic bowel obstructions and the hernia bulge is about the size of a cantaloupe.  Since my lungs are too bad to allow surgerical repair for now, I was wondering about the prognosis for the hernia and damage to the small intestines and stomach and liver protruding through the hernia.  I have had sloughing off of the muscus membrane from the small intestines and bleeding when they get strangulated.  I am currently going thru a lung transplant evaluation process which may take another 6 months, so was wondering about the dangers and how best to deal with the chronic pain?
