Hello to all of my fellow forum members.

I just wanted to let you all know that I will not be checking this forum very often, if at all, for probably a long while.  I know how WE get worried when we don't see regular posters checking in on the forum, so I thought I would update you on my life a bit.

My husband has been initially diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).  We are in the midst of setting up appointments for 2nd opinions, etc.  As well as trying to finish building our new home.  So, I will be MIA for some time.

If any of you would like to talk to me, please direct questions to Cecilia (flchurchlady).  Cecilia has my home telephone number and we talk frequently.  (Cece - I hope you don't mind!)

Good Luck to all of you with your pending surgeries and to those of you recovering.  Keep your chins up and a positive attitude and I will be thinking of all of you.

This has been a very emotionally draining time for us - our lives have just been turned totally upside down over the last week.  All prayers and positive vibes will be greatly appreciated.

I will miss "chatting" with you all a great deal.
Peggy

Peggy

Oh Peggy, I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's possible diagnosis of ALS. I am going to add you both to my prayer list. You both take care and check in whenever you can. You've been my inspiration since I've been here and I'll miss you.

Oh Peggy I'm so sorry to hear about the possibility of ALS. You and your husband will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hearing how another wonderful family has to deal with one of these diseases makes me so angry.

Please know that we are praying for you both and come and lean on us whenever you need.

I also want to let you know that my uncle had ALS and my aunt, who lives just south of you, would I'm sure, love to answer any questions you might have. She did a wonderful job caring for my uncle. They were the love of each other's lives. Please let me know if you'd like to contact her and I'll give you her phone number. (Cece, would you please tell Peggy this when you speak with her in case she doesn't see this post? Thanks!)

We love you!!

Peggy, I am so sorry to hear about your husband’s possible ALS. I hope and pray that a second diagnosis will prove differently. I just want to let you know that you and your husband will be in my prayers. And I do understand if you don’t post for a while. My next door neighbor has the disease as well as another of his fellow workers which makes us wonder what is going on!

Hello All,

I am just checking back to say thank you to all of your kind posts and good wishes.  It's been a very emotional last week or so...   I haven't had an opportunity to read any of the other topics but I hope everyone is doing well.

Kim - Yes, I would be interested in your aunt's name and contact info.  I may not contact her right away, but it would be nice to have the info.

Richard - Thank you for the so very kind offer of assistance.  I may be taking you up on it.  And thank you for your kindness and offer.

Cece - Thanks for the phone calls to check on me and keep me updated on "the happenings" and I am sorry I haven't been able to "chat" like we used to, but I certainly enjoy every moment that we do.

I wish you all continued good health and quick recoveries.  I'll try to check back once in a while.

Miss you all -- you are like a second family to me.

Peggy,
You have been so much help to so many and I hope that the struggles you and your husband are facing now end quickly and you can get to enjoy your new home soon! You deserve many blessings for the help you've given to people here and I hope that you see them soon! And you know that if you ever need anything, venting etc, we are all just a keyboard away!
