I don't know if anyone else has had the pleasure, but, I had a gastro-graphen enema on Monday in order to determine if my colon is in any kind of shape to consider an ileostomy reversal. Well, I have had my ileo almost 3 years so the parts "down there" were pretty much asleep. I am still expelling the fluid after 2 days. Is this unusual? I had this test once before while an inpatient and I don't remember it taking so long for the fluid to drain out.

Any comments would be helpful.

Ileostomy since August 2005.
As result of surgery (modified whipple) for necrotising pancreatitis. Removal of gallbladder, 2/3 of pancreas, resections of large and small intestines. Massive infection.

I know my medical odyssey has been unique (isn't everyone's?), but I'm still having some residual discharge. I have a call into the doc but The answers from "on-high" aren't always on point.

Any thoughts guys?
