Do potatoes cause gas?

Just curious, because I ate red skinned baked potatoes last night and my stomach's been gurgling ever since.

Hmmm....I wouldn't think so b/c after surgery potatoes were on the "eat this" list of food for ostomates. Maybe someone else will have a more definitive answer.

Skins are a no-no for me --- they really don't digest well at all no matter how well you try to chew them. Cece, be careful.

i would say the skins, or if the potatos had some kind of seasoning on them. I used to eat these little cut up potatos that my Mom made and she put some kind of seasoning on them, they were really really good, but they gave me horrible gas!
i do eat fries with skins though and haven't had any trouble

Yeah, I ate the skins, which I shouldn't have done. I'm feeling much better now. Lesson learned, except I ate chili for dinner tonight! We'll see how I feel after that. So far so good!

you silly girl! i don't know about chili, but i do know that at least it won't smell up the room!
