I made it all the way through MAY without being sick at all!
I know that sounds like a stupid thing to be happy about, but since i got sick in 1999, every single year i have been sick in the month of May!!! and of course, last year i wasn't sick but i had just had my surgery so i wasn't feeling good then, so i am not counting that!  But anyway, i mean i know this sounds really stupid, but i am just super happy about it!

Good for you!!!!!!  May is too nice of a month to be sick!!! :)

I had a "first" also....I went into school today to clean up a few things before the end of the year, and today was the first time in a year that I did not have to "scout out" a bathroom to make sure no one was in it so I could "go" and not be worried!  Because I did not have to poop or even empty my bag the whole time I was there!  Yay!

Isn't freedom a wonderful thing? I'll never forget the first time I went shopping at TJ Maxx and didn't have to beeline it to the bathroom. I slowly browsed around the store for two hours that day and enjoyed every minute! :-)
Dx'd Crohn's in '99 at 28. Proctocolectomy and ileostomy in '06.
Disease-free, medicine-free, and very thankful to be healthy again :)

it is wonderful to be "free" and i finally perfected my bag system for swimming. That was a big plus too, lol.

I can understand why you're happy about having a tan, because it means you're outside in the sunshine enjoying life.

Living in Florida, I can always tell when someone has just arrived from spending the winter up north, because they're skin is so white. I can also tell how long they've been here, because by the first week, they usually have a bright red sunburn! tongue

That's how they discover the importance of sunscreen, and it takes them a couple of months to figure out how to balance the right SPF with the right amount of sun time before they achieve the much-desired bronzed tan.

Enjoy your healthy glow! :-)

that is part of it, but the real reason is because, for all the tiem i was sick, no matter how much time i spent outside, i didnt' tan, i could have layed out for ten hours a day 7 days a week and stil wouldn't have tanned. And now, i guess since my body isn't so busy using all of it's energy to take care of my insides it has some left over to take care of the outsides! Plus the areas that aren't getting any sun are getting darker also, getting back to what my skin color used to be! and my hair is shiny and pretty again
