Just got back from my pre-op appt with the ostomy nurse.  I think I finally fully understand everything that I will be having done and am feeling much more confident.  I'm having j-pouch surgery with a temp ileostomy while it heals.  I have my stoma placement marked, it seems like a good place and I am now counting the days until Aug 1st.  I will get to have a nurse come to the house for a home visit after I'm released, which makes me very happy.  Only 10 days to go.  I wish it was sooner the waiting is killing me.  Thank you again for all your support and help.

P.S.  I've changed the ring tone on my phone to the Police's "Don't stand so close to me", only I sing it "Don't stand so colostomy":)

Your song reference made me think of "The waiting is the hardest part"  (Tom Petty)  The waiting does suck.  Keep busy and do what you won't be able to for a bit after your surgery.

Good luck, LadyHawk! Our prayers are with you. I sure hope you have someone to help you with your children. You'll need it and plenty of rest.
