yeah  hiya guys!!! just thought I would put a happy topic on cos I am always so down, but for three days now I have actrually been feeling ten times better!! yeh me!! for years I haven't felt like this and finally it is happening. Been on the new pain meds for 2 weeks and by the looks of it they are now taking effect. For the first time in years i have been physically active three days on the trot. Yeh I am completely whacked by the end of the night but who cares daytime has been good, and that is with a period!!! I have a huge hall in my house, very high ceilings, and i stripped all wallpaper, and undercoated all woodwork. Big job but thought i would give it a go, and surprised myself. Even my hubby is surprised, he ius just letting me get on with it, oh yeh i also got rid of my carpet and my original oak floor looks fab! I sang my way through the decorating with numerous cd's and i am still feeling really upbeat, hope it lasts!!! I am getting sore in the evening but i am fighting my way through it now. After reading everyone elses topics etc.... my confidence and moods have improved so thanks to everyone for comfort and encouragement

thankyou  flchurchlady xxxx well last night I got a little sore in bed, quite strange as it was 2 specific parts of the small bowel. My only guess is that my dinner was struggling with the adhesions. But got up at 8.30 had the longest poop in history without the use of help and it felt great. My kids are away at their grandparents so i thought oh well I can go back to bed, got back up at 11.00 and had another little poop. Yeeehaa. I am also ready to face another day of decorating!! Huge difference to before where i actually cried because I couldn't help do nothing, now i am actually doing this decor malarkey on my own. My hubby and best friend are worried that I will have a burnout, but somehow i actually have a good feeling about this. There seems to be a little light at the end of the tunnel now. last night after dinner, my best friend hubby and I ended up having a huge water fight. Water balloons and super soakers and everything. It felt great. No worries no pain, and i had a complete blast. I was able to paticipate in something and last till the very end. I know that i will inevitably have bad days, but for now they are good, and while they are like that i am going to do as much as i can, and make up for feeling like such an invalid these past years!!! hope everyone is well. the healingwell forum seems quite quiet these days. luv to all

Amanda,

I think you've got good days ahead. The worst is over, and the best is yet to come!  :-) Pretty soon, you can change your name to "betternow!"

hi cecilia, well I am still decorating!! nearly a week of constant physical activites. What a difference. The only thing is I am only having 1 BM a day, first thing in the morning, but i have to admit too, that this week I have not been getting trapped wind, which is a huge relief. Trapped wind lately has been spreading right to my shoulder blades, extremely painful. But yes, hopefully my life can now begin as it was meant to. Just hope i don't have to remain on pills, rest of my life. Plud this week i have changed some foods. No oats, no high fibre veg, in fact no veg this week, just salads, changed bread to a danish kind, so i don't actually know what is helping me, maybe a concoction of them all is what i needed. Fingers crossed i stay this way. I actually feel quite good. WOOOOOOOOHHHHOOOOOOOOO
Hope everyone is well.

Amanda, I'm so glad you're doing well! yeah If you get trapped gas again, take some Gas-X, and it will help a lot.

Gas-X is an over-the-counter gas relief medicine that helps dissolve gas. They must have it in the UK under a different name. Simethicone is the medical name for it. Trapped gas can be so painful! sad Laying on your left side can sometimes help, too. Hope it goes away soon!

I also used to suffer with trapped gas. I would go weeks without passing gas. I mean, I would have a BM, but no gas. I do have one move that always helped me. Lay flat on the floor on your back, raise your legs as far as you can toward your head, you can use your elbows to help prop you up. My feet actually touch the floor behind my head when I do it, but I do lots of yoga, so just go as far as you can go. In yoga this is called plow pose, so you could google it and find a picture of what it looks like. This often times would release lots of gas for me. It did not work every time, but try it periodically, I bet you will find it will help. If it is going to work it usually works right away, so you do not need to hold the pose a long time and strain yourself if nothing happens. Just try it a few times a day. I found it worked best after I exercised, and with all the house work you have been doing I bet you are getting lots of exercise!! Hope this helps!

hey heather, well i tried the plow!!!!!!! nothing. But then the gas isn't as trapped as normal so maybe went itself, yeh i got the feet on the floor, noah thought it was funny!!!, So i kept tickling him while my feet were behind my head. Amazingly still quite flexible, even after 4 kids, but my left hip was uncomfy on the floor( sciatica while preg with the twins, plays up on hard surface) but i endured it, but nothing released. I will try that position though when it is realy bad, it miht just work then, xx
