for the past few days whenever something comes out of my stoma it stings. i'm not sure if it's because i didnt cut the bag close enough to the size of my stoma, or something i ate. any suggestions?

are you using a seal or paste? If you use a seal (Eakin is one) it will help with the area around the stoma even if you cut the opening too large. If this is the first time it has happend, don't be afraid to change the wafer a little early to help your skin out!

nah, i've been steering clear or all that kind of stuff for fear of blockages. but i just emptied my bag and there was blood in it as well. not looking good. my home health nurse is coming in tomorrow so i'll have to ask her about it and hope it's nothing too serious. i dont have any other pain, i've been home from the hospital for a week now and finally dont have to take pain killers to get through the day, so i have that to be thankful for at least.

Could it be that your flange may be cutting into the stoma? Could it be cut to small? Or possibly not centered around the stoma?

Just a thought.... I'd change it as soon as you can to see what's going on... your nurse can do that for you.
