Just to let ya all know that Cecilia is in the hospital with a partial blockage but she thinks that it "let loose" today...  she awoke nauseated in the middle of the night and after throwing up several times, went to the hospital.  She has an IV pushing fluids and an NG tube.  She's not in a lot of pain now and is feeling much better. I'll let her tell ya what "may" have caused her blockage!!

I sure hope she is feeling better and can get out of the hospital soon.

I called Cece today and left a message for her to call me when she could.  Well, she did and the news is that she got her NG tube out today and has started clear liquids.  Her output is good and she is feeling better.  She is hoping that she will get out tomorrow as the west coast of FL is in the path of a hurricane that is to hit her area on Tuesday if it keeps the same path.  She wants to get home so that she can prepare.  Keep Cece and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes!! I'm home now, after stopping at Perkins for breakfast (I was craving pancakes after being on clear liquids)  smilewinkgrin  and am feeling 100% better.

I have scar tissue that is at the root of these blockages, and I think it got worse by eating too many cherries. They were so delicious that I ate way more than I should have. Then, I ate a big romaine salad with strawberries and walnuts. Well, that really did me in.  shakehead  I guess I'd better stick with a low residue diet for awhile.

Please keep us in prayer down here in Florida with this hurricane coming. I've got family up and down the West Coast from Naples to Tampa. We've got our shutters up, plenty of supplies, and are prepared to ride it out in Fort Myers.

Thanks again for thinking of me, and I'll keep you posted (if I have electricity) on how we're doing down here. If I lose power, but have cell phone coverage, I'll call Peggy and let her know how we're doing, so she can keep you all updated.

Take care,
Cecilia

Thanks so much! I appreciate all of your prayers.

I'm heading off to fill up some gas cans, so we can use our generator when the power goes out. We turned our garage into a billiard room and have a window air conditioning unit in there that can be plugged into a generator. We're planning to put our mattress on top of the pool table and sleep where it's cool when the power goes out. wink

Thanks! We've got our shutters up and plenty of supplies, so we're ready to ride out the storm. It hasn't become a hurricane yet (74 mph winds), but it is coming our way as a strong tropical storm with sustained winds expected at 70 mph. I've got candles set up all over the house, so we're ready for the power to go out overnight. I'll keep you posted on how we're doing, if I can get internet access once the storm blows through.

Take care,

Cecilia

Sorry I missed this news. I haven't been on in a while. But glad you're doing better Cece. Will keep you in my prayers and your family as you ride out the storm.

Thanks, I'm feeling so much better. Even though it's no fun to have to go to the hospital, they always take good care of me, and I always leave feeling better than when I arrived.

Quick storm update: it made landfall a few minutes ago in Marco Island, which is over 40 miles south of us. It never became a hurricane, and we still have power. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. We are glad that it did not turn out to be another hurricane Charley, which came through 4 years ago as a category 4 hurricane. It did a lot of widespread damage. This one is basically a really big, windy rainstorm.

Take care,
:-) Cecilia

I was glad to see it stay a tropical storm so there wouldn't be the damage w/ a hurricane but Florida would still get the rain it needs.

So glad you're doing well flchurchlady smilewinkgrin

Wow, has it been 4 years since Charlie already?? Crazy how time flies... You know, I was expecting more rain but I haven't seen ANY yet today!! I'm in the Tampa area- about five minutes from Clearwater beach. It was nice and windy though this morning, made it feel really nice outside. I love tropical storms :) I never, ever watch the news though because 1) it's 99% depressing and 2) they overhype the crap out of everything to make everyone scared so they'll fill up their gas tanks and buy 500 bottles of water.. Maybe I'm just cynical though. But do you remember how many times they said "hunker down" during Charlie? Hahah :P

Anyway, glad you're home and doing well; I bet those were some of the best pancakes of your life! Go easy on the cherries next time! Hehe

Female, 23, Ulcerative colitis (pancolitis) diagnosed at age 15; GERD; gastritis; osteopenia in femur head & lumbar spine from long term prednisone use.

Current Meds:
Lexapro 10mg
Trying out Lialda, 2 pills/day

Edie, I know, I can't believe it's been 4 years already! My sister lives in Palm Harbour and didn't get any weather from Fay, and we got very little. I also liked how breezy and cool it was - a nice change from the hot, humid weather we've been having. Yeah, I hope I never have to hear "hunker down" ever again!! They overused that during Charley.

Those were the best pancakes of my life. I had to remind myself to chew, because I wanted to inhale them! smilewinkgrin

Me + cherries = nono
