HI EVERYONE.  I HAVE A QUESTION.  I HAD A TEMP. ILEOSTOMY DONE ON AUGUST 12TH OF THIS YEAR.  MY STOMACH WAS SWOLLEN BUT SURGEON SAID IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE SURGERY WHICH I WAS ABLE TO HAVE DONE LAPROSCOPICALLY THANK GOODNESS.  SO ALL I HAVE IS THREE LITTLE INCISIONS... ONE IN MY BELLY BUTTON, ONE TO THE LEFT OF IT, AND ONE DOWN BY MY PUBIC AREA.  THEN I OBVIOUSLY HAVE MY OSTOMY ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY ABDOMEN.  BUT IT'S A MONTH LATER AND I LOOK LIKE I'M IN MY SECOND TRIMESTER.  IS THIS NORMAL OR AM I BLOWING IT OUT OF PROPORTION.  I AM EATING A LOT MORE THAN I WAS A MONTH AGO DUE TO THE FACT THAT I HAVE CROHN'S DISEASE AND WAS GOING TO THE BATHROOM 25 TIMES A DAY.  I DID GAIN A LITTLE WEIGHT BUT I DON'T THINK I GAINED SO MUCH THAT MY STOMACH LOOKS THE WAY IT DOES.  ALSO DOES ANYONE EXPERIENCE NEUSEA AFTER THEY EAT LUNCH AND DINNER.  BREAKFAST I'M OKAY BUT LUNCH AND DINNER ALWAYS MAKE ME NEASEATED.  ANYONE THAT CAN HELP I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. COUNTDOWN TO MY REVERSAL 8 WEEKS.

yeah it's pretty normal, your stomach gets all messed up from surgery it takes a while to get the muscle tone back and all that, and then there is fluid that will eventually go away, lol.
i had some problms with naseau at first, i just ate little bits at a time. Try that and see if it helps, also make sure you are drinking lots, being dehydrated can make you feel sick too

Are you watching what you eat?  Maybe your system isn't ready to eat certain things you are trying.  Definately watch your fluids...keep a diary of what you are eating/drinking for a few days, that might show what could be causing the nausea and if you are drinking enough (sometimes we THINK we drink enough, when we really are not).  Also, if your output is very watery, you are should drink even more.

My surgery was open, so I don't really know how long it takes for swelling to go down with lapro, but if your doc says its normal, go with that for a little while longer.  You can always ask him again at 6 weeks out.
