Hi guys,

i know its been a minute since ive been on, but ive been adjusting to my new job.  Im finally in my career path, what i actually when to school for seven years for (due to the crohns and constant sickness) So yeah! im a teacher! im teaching 6th and 7th literacy and loving it so far! just gotta get my footing with this administrative stuff.

so ne way, back on topic, i remember i was telling u guys i wanted to switch bags, and the two best suggestions i got were the coloplast assura extended wear, and the hollister new image lock n rolls.  So i got the coloplast last time i ordered and i actually love them. I love the clear flange, but the filter never works and my bag blows up which i hate, and the little tabby thing is too tricky and i dont trust myself w/relasing the air and snapping it back on right (dont know if u guys remember that bad experience in target lol).

So i thought that u guys mentioned that the filters on the new image 2pieces work ok? are they inconspicuous? i've gotten spoiled w/my clear flange and the size of it, can we cut down the size of the flange? And do u guys use the tuperware snap on kind? i think i saw someone mention the sticky kind.  Do these stick well? do they come aloose if ur bag gets heavy? like maybe when ur sleeping and dont empty thru the night?

Ne answers, suggestions, statements, opinions would b welcome...thanks guys!

Congrats on the job...6th and 7th graders, too!  You must have ALOT of patience:)

I use the New Image lock and roll for two reasons...the flange is the only one that works on my "peaks and valleys" tummy and the filter!  I find that the only time it might fill up with a little air is when I am either laying down on the couch or sleeping...but, as soon as I get up, either burp it (no locking tabs) or empty, it starts to work again!  No need for the stickers in the shower, too!!  I wish all the manufacturers would figure that out, no one should have to do the sticker thing!

I don't know about cutting the flange down, but it is skin color and more "cloth like" than the others I've tried...I don't even worry about what hangs out over the lower rise jeans since it isn't too obvious.

Yeh, it's the "tupperware" kind...I have to tell you I was nervous too the first time I tried this brand out, but I haven't had ANY problems (as long as you don't count the time I sliced the pouch open with my FINGERNAIL!!, I guess it told me it was too long:)).  Because of my uneven stomach, I usually change at four days for piece of mind, but I have gone 7 without a problem.

Hey ohio!

just wanted to let u know that i wasnt able to wait until the weekend. i had extreme itchiness and it wasnt from leaking b/c when i put the water in the bag and pushed it up to my stoma i couldnt feel it. so i assumed it was pretty tight, but taking the wafer off i was red and bumpy, so i had to switch and all i had was the hollister, first day wasnt bad at all...no real ballooning which is cool, just trying to figureoo ut how to empty, it doesnt just pop open...so yeah i think i like it, thanks for the suggestion!

I slide both sides of the tail in opposite directions (to get air in and then it is easy). Also, after the first or second time emptying, it doesn't stick together as much, but at the same time is doesn't leak! Amazing:) Good Luck hope it keeps working for you...

the easiest way to get it to open easier is to take medical tape and put it over the end. It helps make it much easier to open, and to close.
It sounds weird, but this is what i do, i close it, then take a piece of medical tape and start it at the cloth on the end that faces away from you, then cover the whole part of the tail that is left exposed, when it's rolled up. I cut the ends so they don't cover up the tail to keep it from opening.
Then the tail is not all slick, and it makes it much easier to open and close, and keeps me from cutting it with my fingernails.
