living with a stoma

I have now the problem, and that is funny perhaps. I feel me a half man, Your body do it not well and also a very low sexdrive. It work not more as normal. Sometime a shame me,when carol my wife all replaced the bags and the wafer. And i have the same time epilepsy.I ame a old man 62 but your life go one. Have somebody the same feelings. blush

Don't sell yourself short. Though, I have about 15 years to go, 62 is not old. It depends on how you decide to live your life.

Gavobe,

I am younger (31yrs old) and I also found it hard to be comfortable with my boyfriend when I had my ileostomy.  For the first little while I felt more comfortable wearing a tank top while being intimate so that I was not worried about the bag. It sounds like you are a very strong man who has survived a lot!  Good luck!


October 2003 - Dx/ed with Crohn's disease
April 2004 - 2ft of small bowel removed plus complications due to abdominal abcesses - 6 weeks in hopsital
October 2006 - perianal abcess, surgery to have drain inserted
February 2007 - abcess wont heal surgery for temporary ileostomy, started Remicade
Oct 16th, 2008 - Surgery to reverse Ileostomy - in Remission first time ever!!

Thanks for your kind reply,yes i known it is hard, I have three surgery's after my back. En then the treatments for radiation and chemo. Live is hards,but I have allways hope. I say everyday to the Lord,thanks whe can again move on. I hope that for you to.

keep going mate - never ever give up. You are actually more of a man having dealt with all this stuff. End of story.
