hiya guys i know ive not posted lately but i have been very tired with the pregnancy as well as all day sickness.

well after thinking i am mended i go and do a stupid thing AGAIN. i had sweetcorn lastnight with dinner, didn't think it would be a biggie, as i had corn a fwe weeks ago also popcorn and was fine, well last night it hit me like a ton of bricks and i got scared. the pain has been horrific. I couldnt lie straight or curled or nothing. pain was so bad i was near tears. It reminded me so much of the temp obstruction i had couple of months post surgery. Thankfully it passed just before anotehr surgery. But why now???? when i feel like i am well, and pregnant does it hit me again??????????????????

i feel like i am always going to be plagued with it, will it or wont it hit me today!!!! i know i should feel lucky and thank my stars, believe me i do, i just dont get it!!!! it is as if it is darn well teasing me,

anyway enough of me feeling sorry for myself how are my HW friends.???

Amanda,
I'm sorry you had a bad night, but am glad it passed quickly. I've had to learn the hard way, too, what foods don't agree with me. And if it's certain foods that cause the pain, at least that's something we can control, right? :-) Hang in there and keep your chin up!
Your friend in Florida,
Cecilia
P.S. - I saw my sister's photos from Scotland, and oh my, what a beautiful country! I love all of the stone castles!

amanda--sorry to hear you are having such pains! One thing I do, when I eat things that could cause problems, is to eat small amounts (and CHEW ALOT). That way I get a taste of it without eating so much that it could cause a blockage. I say that after I just ate an entire bowl of mushroom brie bisque for lunch!!! I did try to avoid all the whole mushrooms, tho!!

I think there is also someone who will eat the "no no" food with bites of the other food offered. That way I think it is less likely to cause a blockage.

I hope you feel better soon!

hi Ohio thanks for replying!! ooh your lunch sounded lovely i do love mushroom dishes. will i ever learn ha ha ha i must admit i did have a lot of corn, i did this thinking id be fine as it hadnt be causing any problems for a while, but saying that i have stuck to small amounts compared to yesterday. i get the eating with other foods, kinda makes sense. maybe i should try that. Yesterday i was feeling rather famished, pregnancy causing sickness so i think when i am not and hungry i must eat quicker before the sickness returns and ruins my appetite. Likes of tonight i was really hungry, having herb and garlic crusted chicken with salad and fries, but my taste buds are all loopy and i didnt like the chicken so i had fries and salad instead, i seem to be ok with salads as long as seeds are removed from the tomatoes etc......

but oh your lunch did sound yummy, was it??? fancy describing it so i can maybe give it a whirl myself. please lol

Hi Amanda!

I hope you're feeling better today. I'm doing well. Boy, that mushroom soup does sound yummy! I asked my sister if they visited Glamis Castle while in Scotland, and they did. She said it was lovely. She would go back again in a heartbeat, and I would love to go, too. Our mother is from Sweden, so we've traveled around Europe over the years, but I've never made it over to your beautiful country. From the pictures I've seen, I'm saving the best for last! smilewinkgrin

When is your baby due? Do you know if it's a boy or a girl? Don't you already have four boys? turn God bless you!!

Amanda just wanted to know if the garlic bothered you?I love pasta with garlic and olive oil but since my reversal I have eaten it twice and I ended up sick as a dog.Have you talked to your DR. about the morning sickness? There is a prescription med. that realy works for that but it is very expencive. Also B-12 shots sometimes help.I have had 9 children and I get morning sickness every time. The other thing you dont want to do is eat alot that makes it worse and when you dont eat at all the same thing will happen. So try to eat small meals 4 to 6 times a day tell you get past this part of your pregnancy.Dont know if any of this will help you but I hope so.GOOD LUCK.
Lost half of my small intestine.Ilieostomy for 5 months then reverst,Nerve damage to right leg, part of my right hip bone removed,Cronic pain, hernia, infection in my back called discites, and depression.Mother to 9 kids 7 boys 2 girls and 1 stepson.4 grandsons,9 grandaughters.4 of my grandkids I inherited from my twin sister who passed away 6 1/2 years ago from a blood clot after surgery.God has given me my life back after I almost lost it.Even though its a painful and sometimes hard road to walk I take it one step at a time and give thanks to god for every step I take.

hi cece,

well according to my dates the baby is due june 5th, but i have never carried to full term. Always wondered if that was cause of my health probs. Always had healthy babies thankfully. I am only 10 weeks so i dont know what the sex is yet. But we are still deciding whether to find that out or not. we already have 4 boys. joshua is 9, harvey and jacob are 6 and noah is 2. A little girl would even things out nicley, lol but we dont mind. none of our children have ever had bowel problems. such a relief.i have my first ultrasound on the 26th of this month, and then i will have another at about 20 weeks. To find out the sex we will go private. they dont tell you here on the nhs. It costs about $150. i think it is worth it. the scenery in Scotland is fab, especially pitlochry, and the glens, Glen Clova being a fave of mine. you would so love it.

mom9mom

garlic actually doesnt bother me, one of the things i am actually ok with. but if i have a lot of dairy and fibre together thats not a good mix.i love whitefish, with a cream and gruyere sauce, with savoy cabbage and new potatoes. I end up ill. Sometimes end up the same with mac n cheese, but not always its kind of a russian roulette.

i am not being sick. just feel sick most of the time. Here you actually have to be losing weight, be very dehydrated, etc... to get those meds. you also dont get to see a doc or a midwife til you have had your first ultrasound. Yep even with my previous health probs its the same. Unless something came up as an emergency. i do try and eat small meals 4-6 times daily, but when the nausea hits it makes it very difficult to keep to my routine, so in the end i do feel famished. its just the worst part of pregnancy isnt it??? you think with 4 kids i would be used to this, but i so am not!!!! i am even dreading the labour lol i know its forever away, but my baby sister just gave birth and i was thinking oh no what have  done can i realy do this again????? lol nerves got the better of me. fine now of course but seeing my sis in pain was a bit much. i think you handle yourself better in pain than a loved one. not long to go till the first trimester is over then i can enjoy the eating part. lol i so am looking forward to that ha ha ha how on earth did you manage 9 kids???????????? such respect for you!

thank you for replying to my post everyone i really appreciate it xxxxx

cool   cool cool You already know the most inportant thing.SPACING Almost all of my kids are spaced 3 1/2 years apart.Isidoro is 29,David 27,Rodolfo 23,Esteban22,Andrea18,Enrique15,Abelardo11,mavricio9,marina lynn almost 6.I have grandkids older then my baby and no she was not a accident.I am with you I hate the first three months and the last three months.People use to ask me if I loved being pregnent.I told them H--- no I hate it but it is the only way to have the children that I want.So I was willing to put up with the bad parts. But I was 40 when I had marina lynn and it was a good thing we were done because my pregnency with her was horrible she was 1 month early and I dont think I would have been able to stand it if iI would have had to go that last 4 weeks.Well good luck on your baby and hope you get a girl.I have always been very happy with all my boys  and I am happy that I had more boys then girls but i still give thanks to god for giving me 2 girls to. cool cool cool cool

wow wow wow

you must have some amount of energy!!!!!!! i would never ask if your children were accidents. i get asked that all the time, and it bothers me. i may be having my fifth or number 5 and 6, but every one was planned. i do love my boys too, just need a wee bit of backing up, lol 5 to 1 odds are always against me ha ha ha our house like yours is full of laughter screaming fighting etc... but i wouldnt change it. my children were all early. Joshua was a week early, harvey and jacob 5 weeks early and noah was 4 weeks early. Noah was the heaviest too, thankfully i didnt go to term, he was 7lbs 3. they say babies put on between 1/2 to 1 pound per week the last month!!!!! he could have been 11 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

another thing that has bothered me this time round is when telling people my news, they are like. " oh are you ok?" as if having a child could be a bad thing, never mnd the ear to ear smile spread across my face. I do hate pregnancy too. Each time has been terrible. Last time with noah was awful i got told not to work anymore after having contractions( real ones) that started at 20 weeks, amazing he lasted so long in the womb as he did. Scaitic nerve always gets hammered, as well as the burst stomach muscles, support belts, body tubey grips. Worst part is always my hip. having the twins left me with nerve pain every now and agin, but when pregnant its there constantly. ah the things we go through to have a beautiful healthy baby at the end eh??  how are you mom9mom? xx yeah

The other question that people ask is "dont you know what birth control is"I hated that one to.I had two babys that were a little over 9 lbs, four 8 lbsers,Mavricio was 7"14 and he was 2 1/2 weeks early(he is 9 and bigger then the 11 year old)My oldest girl was 7"11 but my 5 year olds placenta was in a bad spot so she weighed a huge 4"11.She is still small. But she is very smart. She started kindergarden in sept. and she is starting to read early readers and she can do simple math.I have always worked when I was pg. with all my kids and all the jobs have been standing on my feet for 8 hours so I have varicose vains in my legs and spider vains in my feet,But worse of all is arthritis in my hips and knees. But I would not give up any of them. You just might get that girl we had 4 boys befor we got andrea.
