Almost 5 weeks ago I had major surgery re****ing in a temporary ileostomy.  Between my ex and my parents my 2.5 year old son is being well cared for.  I meanwhile am mainly putting up my feet and stuffing my face (I can't stop eating).

Question is, is it ok do you think now to resume normal active life and lifting up my son and hoovering and doing the normal things we all do in daily life?  I don't want to be lazy but at the same time I'm not sure how much isn't pushing it.

Thanks :-)

i was wondering about that too, but i think what you did was you switched the u and the l around cause when i tried typing it that way it blacked it out too.  Still not what i would call a dirty wordthough, lol
You should wait until you go back to the dr for your final checkup for the lifting, you dont' wanna mess anything up! That was so hard for me though, not being able to pick up my baby, he didnt' even live iwth me for almost 6 weeks after surgery.
I think you can do most things, just watch the lifting, and you will get tired alot faster so don't over do it.

Thanks Summerstorm it's really good to know about what you did with your baby I feel so awful not picking him up.  He's not coming to me any more for anything it's all Daddy and it's killing me taking such a huge step back.  Knowing we've all got to go through it again in a few months leaves me feeling so guilty and now I'm not as laid up as I was I feel like a fraud arghh!

You are so not being lazy, you just had MAJOR surgery! I was told not to lift anything over 10lbs for 6 weeks, you don't want to get a hernia on top of everything.

When my boys were 3 and 10 months I was in the hospital for a month for a UC flare and couldn't see them because they had chicken pox! I thought I would die! When I got home I had missed my youngest's first steps and was so afraid that he wouldn't remember me, but after a couple weeks, it was momma this and momma that smilewinkgrin

Give yourself a break, it's not your fault you are laid up right now. Before you know it, you will be lugging him every where you go!
