I learned something about mouthwash yesterday. They are not created equal when it comes to killing ostomy smells.

The Listerine type works great, since it has a germ killing agent in it. smilewinkgrin

The Scope type without the germ killing agent, not so good. shakehead

I like the Listerine also.  I also like "Lavoris" green which I get at the local "dollar" store.  It works really well also and is only...(you guessed it...) a dollar!!  wink

Repeat Vaginal Prolapse Surgery 2006 (the mesh from previous prolapse surgery had let go and fallen into my bowels)...
Removal of mesh from bowels (it was piercing holes all through my bowels and appendix and cecum, causing 2 fistulas and heavy bleeding vaginally and rectally)...mesh was removed, two pieces of large bowel removed and resectioned with a loop ileostomy. 2008

I have underlying connective tissue disorder (Ehlers Danloss Syndrome) which is the reason for the two failed surgeries)

I've been using mouthwash as a deoderant now for about 2 years. One time, in particular, my stoma started making gurgling noises as I was putting in some mouhtwash. It sounded like it was actually gargling with the mouthwash! True story!!!
