Saw my surgeon today and he is booking me for a ct scan with contrast to make sure nothing is leaking and there are no abcesses etc...then back to see him again to discuss a time for my ileostomy reversal!!!  I had posted earlier about a swelling above stoma site...turns out that it IS a hernia like someone here on the Forum suggested.  He will repair that at the same time.  I am looking forward to being "pouchless", but am nervous at the same time.  I have been feeling so good since having the ileostomy, that I'm afraid I won't do so well when it's all reversed!!!  I am really scared about it!  I have been reading all I can here on the Forum and on another as well to get all the info I can.  Not looking forward to another surgery so soon, but it will sure be nice to not have to worry about leaks, etc.... smilewinkgrin

Vaginal Prolapse Surgery 2001
3 Hernia Repairs, 2004
Repeat Vaginal Prolapse Surgery 2006 (the mesh from previous prolapse surgery had let go and fallen into my bowels)...
Removal of mesh from bowels (it was piercing holes all through my bowels and appendix and cecum, causing 2 fistulas and heavy bleeding vaginally and rectally)...mesh was removed, two pieces of large bowel removed and resectioned with a loop ileostomy. 2008
I have underlying connective tissue disorder (Ehlers Danloss Syndrome) which is the reason for the two failed surgeries)

Hi Roddiesgirln good luck that everything will show up alright on the CT scan.  Me too I'm due a reversal and feel the same as you about it I'm excited to not have to worry about leaks but the same as you I've also been feeling good since having the ileostomy so it is scary isn't it.  I'm nervous about the runs your meant to get after one I've loved not having to live life on the toilet for a change especially since getting the leaks under control.  I hope it all works out great for you :-)
