hi all just wondering if anyone has heard of this. I have developed this while being pregnant. Really dont know much about it and neither does my midwife. I do know that it comes from eitehr blood transfusion or the father. my husband has to get phenotyped whatever that means. i know it has nothing to do with this site but dont know who else to ask. All you fine people seem to have knowledge of most things so fingers crossed. thanks everyone xx

if its rh negative, you can just get some shots and it is fine, at least that is the way it was explained to me.

hi guys. im O+ not neg. only developed it this pregnancy. What ive heard so far is scary. Not the same as Rh Neg. my mum and sisters are that. apparently you get the antibody from blood transfusion or the father of the baby. so it must be hubby cos ive never had a transfusion. a simple injection doesnt cut it for this one. Ive been doing some searching since i posted this and what seems to happen is that the baby can become anaemic, if that happens its a blood transfusion while in utero. it can cause heart and brain problems. and sometimes can mean a full blood replacement when the baby is born. they measure your risk in numbers from your blood, and the numbers double throughout the pregnancy which means the baby is becoming unwell. found out when they took my blood at 17 weeks i was at the lowest so that is good. 21 weeks now and they are going to keep a check on my levels.. still unfortunaltey dont know enough. I have an appt with ob-gyn tomorrow so fingers crossed things are going ok. thanks anyway guys i did think it was a long shot asking, but hey you never know. xx

hiya guys!!! well i had an appt with a consultant yesterday. She said that it is possible i have developed this antibody E on my own!!!! she said its not unusual for someone who has had so much trauma to the body for the body to start fighting and developing antibodies that weren't there in the first place. My husband is still going to get his blood phenotyped to see if he carries the E antigen, as that could still be a possibilitie. but how darn strange. Your body can do this. !!!!!!!
