needing information on a clostomy.please

Ny Dad had a colostomy three weeks ago...He had the fluids.then to real food.came home.had ot go back in hospital for pumonia..spent two days in hospital for that...He had ate good when he was first home.drank good.now he isnt wanting to eat.doesnt want to drink much.says he hurts at the pit of his stomach...he has threw up twice....has anyone expereniced any fo these things with a colostomy bag?...any info would sure be appreciated....Thanks alot confused confused

Is there any input coming out of his stoma? if hes thrown up i think thats a sign of a blockage bc when i had a blockage i threw up but i had almost unbearable pain

I would call his doctor to let them know what's going on, because if it is a blockage, he might have to be re-admitted to the hospital. sad  I hope he feels better soon!


Dx'd Crohn's in '99 at 28. Proctocolectomy and ileostomy in '06.
Disease-free, medicine-free, and very thankful to be healthy again :)

Bella.Thanks for the information....he has ;itt;e output.he says he hurts under his belly....wont hardly eat and hardly drink...i will tell my Mom.Thanks alot for the info........ wink wink

Ditto the message about calling his dr. Blockages are nothing to mess around with.
