Peggy and her husband are on vacation in Florida, and we're going to get together tomorrow! We met on here and have talked on the phone a lot over the last year, so I'm looking forward to meeting her in person.

We're going to go to the beach on Sanibel and then head down to Naples for dinner. We'll take some pictures and post them on our photobucket page. (The username is crohnsdisease and password is 6mp3asa for anyone who hasn't checked it out before)

I'm curious... have any of you emailed, called each other, or met in person after meeting here?

hi there

Yes i am on facebook and recently became friends with Lizzie and 'awesomeame' from this forum - plus someone else who doesnt frequent this site anymore.

I know not everyone likes networking sites but i find it really interesting interacting with people who live half way around the other side of the world and from different cultures.  I am still waiting for my other friends on here who are also having a t/c the same time as me to get onto facebook - it is a great way to find out about each other and to finally see what we look like.

have fun - how jealous am i that you are well - i hope that is our outcome. x

Hey Everyone!! My in-laws have I-net access and I thought I'd drop in and check on everyone this morning while we are on vacation. And then I see my name in one of the topics! Woo-Hoo, I'm famous!!!

Yes, we are having a very nice time. The weather has been very pleasant, and I too, am just sooooo excited to finally get to meet Cecilia and her hubby tomorrow!!! Do check photobucket for pics.... and, I just got my hair cut really short about 3 days before we left for our trip. I won't quite look like the other pic that I have on photobucket. But it definitely is so much easier to take care of.

Today is just a Rest and Relaxation day, maybe we'll head over to the pool/jacuzzi mid morning. After tomorrow's visit with Cece (including our tour of Sanibel and Naples), we are going to drive across the Everglades, take an airboat ride, then drive down to Key West. We will probably spend the night somewhere down there - we don't have any reservations. We tend to travel by the seat of our pants a lot! Heck, sometimes we get a premium room at a regular room rate just so that they can fill it up!

Our flight doesn't leave to go back to IN until the evening of the 24th. So we have several days to enjoy some warm weather and sunshine (and absorb some much needed Vit. D!!!!). I'll be checking back in on you all later!

Stay posted.... we'll see if I fall of the airboat in the Everglades! Not funny, really, but my luck... I really am terrified of alligators too. (btw, my in-laws where we are staying right now live in a golf community with several lakes and lots of gators around. And yes, I have seen them since we've been here. YUCKKKK.)

Take care Everyone...

I'm pleased to report that Peggy did not fall off the airboat in the Everglades! smilewinkgrin It was so much fun to meet her and her hubby on Tuesday. We spent nine hours together, and the time flew by way too fast.

We saw pelicans dive bombing for fish on the Sanibel causeway, watched a beautiful sunset on Naples beach, and ate some yummy Mexican food for dinner. We were laughing at the names of some of their hot sauces, like Colon Blow and Don't Be A Chicken $h*t!

The weather has been in the 70's and sunny, so they are getting a much needed break from the cold weather in Indiana.  cool

We had a wonderful time visiting with Cece and no, we did Not fall off the airboat!  We did, however, have an alligator just about join us IN the airboat when our crazy captain was feeding him fish!!!   Needless to say, I was up and out of my seat, standing on the other side of the boat when I saw that gator and how big he/she was and how many teeth they have when he/she was gobbling up those fish!!!!   Too close for comfort for me.  We did drive from the Everglades down to the very tip of Key West and have had wonderful weather.  Just a few more days of this and back to the snow flying and cold of IN on Tuesday.  I'm not looking forward to that at all.  I will post some pictures on photobucket when we get back and settled in from our trip next week to Long Island, NY.

Thanks again to Cece for showing us around and ordering the wonderful weather while we were in her area!

Peggy and Cece,

Sounds like you guys had a great time! I just got back from vacation in Vegas-didn't win although I didn't really play too much wink .  Saw some beautiful sights-Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, etc., but would love to catch up with someone on this sight sometime-what an awesome opportunity yeah .  So glad you both got the chance to meet :-) .

haha I just remembered something when you talked about pelicans. When I was younger my family and I went on a cruise and while in St. Martin my mom and I went to a animal park thing and there was a pelican on the sidewalk and I wanted to pet it, needless to say I got too close and it bit me on the leg.
thanks, Dusti
