So, some of ya'll might remeber how i been freaking out off and on wanting to tell my friends about this bag.  And finally i decided i just couldnt take hiding it making sure they didn't see it anymore.
I was tired of coming up with some stupid excuse to carry my clothes bag around, and holding a pillow on my tummy just in case it made noise.
So last night, while tim took the boys to his moms, i told deanna, and she laughed at me and said i was stupid for being worried and that she was jealous, lol  She said, so all those times i have to go and poop for ever, you dont ever have to do that?  i said yeah, and she said, that's so awesome, so here i was being stupid for nothing.
i didn't tell tim, i made her do it.  He gets this deer in the headlights look when he gets suprised by something and i just didnt think i could take that!

So anyway to anyone who is wondering if anyone can tell, they had NO idea, and she has seen me change clothes, well he has too actually (people should KNOCK, or people should lock doors, lol) we have all slept in the bed together (not like THAT, lol) they have seen me in a bathing suit, and just about every situation you could imagine.  And they never knew, and we spend, honeslty, just abotu every day together!

i was really worried that they would feel sorry for me too, cause thats the reaction you get from some people.  But they dont' seem to mind, so its ok!

That's great Summerstorm!!  It's very encouraging for those of us who are really self conscious about our "bags".  To think that you did all that and noone knew!!  Awesome!!...Cheryl

That's really great news! I bet you feel a lot of relief, I know how you were stressing about "to tell or not to tell." Do you feel better? It's also great that they didn't even know. I'm so happy for you! You must have some awesome friends. Lucky you!!

Good for you! I know you've been thinking about that for quite a while now, so it must be a load off your mind to have it out in the open. I love your friend's reaction to it! She sounds really cool. I'm really happy that went so well for you! smilewinkgrin What a great testimony for the rest of us, too.

Yea summer!
I still can't believe you hid it for so long. I tell everyone that I know. I don't care. So far people just seem facsinated.
I'm glad you got it off your chest!

yes i feel very very relieved! i was kind of nervous today, though cause i hadnt seen tim since she told him i had texted him today and her, but i wouldnt text either of them first, i was afraid that they had decided over night that they hated me,lol.
But tim acted fine towards me, just the same. And so did she.
So its ok and i do feel much better about it.

Leah, I think you're wonderful!  I'm also so glad you 'came out' to your friends.

My friends all know I've had a difficult past couple years and are very aware of my struggles.  They are so supportive and looking forward to my recovering from this surgery so we can go out and have good times!  I'm not shy at all about my stoma or the UC b/c it's all things I could not control and are a part of me.  smilewinkgrin

I am so glad you've been able to release some of your fears and stressors!!!

Yea you!!!

thanks robin! i wish i could have been so open about it all the time, and it wasn't so muh that i was embarassed by it, but one, how on earth do you tell someone that, we have known each otehr for 16 years, but didnt catch back up and become close again until this year, after my srugery so they weren't around to see me sick.
And also i cant stand when people feel sorry for you, and as awful as this sounds, it made it easier on me because they both have problems with their stomachs and are very open about it.

That makes a lot of sense to me. It would be like going to your high school reunion and telling people you haven't seen in years!

I haven't visited the boards in like a week or two, so I'm catching up on this thread:
SUMMER!
I'm like you with the "love me or hate me" thing, but I love me, so I don't care as much about what others think. I used to, but I'm too old for that now.
I always say "who cares, I have lots of friends, I don't need any more"...........even if I want more.........but not someone who doesn't really like me.
Plus I think I'm funny. And if you don't, I won't like you anyway. I only care if my hubby likes me and my baby.
NE way, I got side tracked.
What I really wanted to say is:
If you get a dang giant zip line in your back yard, You are going to have an ostomy party. We'll slide down it into a giant pool of mud.
You supply the line, I'll bring the mud. (or pudding......)
