It's a week today I had my ileostomy reversed and it's going really really well EXCEPT for this horrid constipation.  I actually drank a whole large glass of prune juice this morning and nothing but a bit of watery stool...just water.  I feel like I am gonna burst and my whole belly is so swollen!  I can still pass gas though.   Tonight I will try some MOM to see how that works.  I feel so crappy (no pun intended) right now I just want to lie down and not move. Tonight I incorporated some pork chops and potatoes (small amount) into my diet...hope that helps to move things along...YUK....I feel rotten right now..............

Removal of mesh from bowels (it was piercing holes all through my bowels and appendix and cecum, causing 2 fistulas and heavy bleeding vaginally and rectally)...mesh was removed, two pieces of large bowel removed and resectioned with a loop ileostomy. 2008

Cher, I'm sorry you feel so bad! The surgery was supposed to fix that, I hate that you're back to the same old problem. It will get better! Have you called your doctor to see if you can take some MOM or something? Maybe you have a blockage or something? Do you have a fever or are you vomiting? I sure hope not because those are sure signs of a blockage.

Keep me posted my friend! I got your email but haven't had time to respond at length like I want, but I will soon. I promise!!

I was so afraid of this after having my reversal...the horrid constipation...last night I took a small dose of MOM and a large glass of prune juice...nothing. This morning at 6:30 I took a regular dose of MOM and two hours later.........relief!  I have been running ever since.  It feels to good to have the dam let go but now my belly is so sore inside.  I know I sound like I'm whining...(I guess I am) but I suffered so much with constipation prior to my ileostomy and now here it is again.  Do u think maybe it's just that my bowels are kind of in "shock" from the whole thing and may settle into some sort of normalcy eventually?   Thanks for letting me vent........Cheryl
