I'm on the clear liquid diet today and Im already starving! I have to take those bisacodyl tablets tonight and then do an enema one hour before my appointment.  The test is to see how big the anastamosis is and then another test to see how much of the "stuff" they put in me I can push out.  The doctor said they take an x-ray after they put the stuff in me and then they send me to the bathroom to try to go and when I'm done they take another x-ray to see how much is left.  This doesn't sound fun.  I had that stuff put in me before and I did not like it one bit!

Right now though I am starving and I have a headache.  I've been drinking broth but it doesn't help too much. I could have some jello but I don't really like it.  Oh well, it's only for 24 hours...

Best of luck to you with your tests my Friend!!  You'll let us know how you make out??  Hope you don't get too hungry...it's awful though isn't it?  Bad enough they put us through the torture of the tests themselves but on top of that all the fasting and yukky stuff we have to take.  {{{hugs}}}

yep.. it's an absolute torture. b/c our probs are in the sewage of the body and the sewage is ALWAYS dirty, right? so how can they check it if we don't clean it first? so we have to work so hard to just clean it and go through this torture before every test bummer..

Amanda,

Hang in there and just keep thinking you'll have answers soon and hopefully some solutions! I know it sucks to have to fast...can you have popcicles? I don't like jello much either, but I sure went through some popcicles when I was only on liquids.

Good luck, and be sure to let us know what you find out!!

Janie

I just had to do this a week ago for colonoscopy--it is awful.  I was starving, too.  But then, (my mother suggested) I make some homemade chicken broth, and it did help to fill me up--just put a breast with bones in a pot of water add some large pieces of celery, carrots and onions, and bouillion cubes--after about an hour, dip some broth out, I kept adding more water, and dipping more out--originally thought I'd make soup for the rest of the family, but ended up using all the broth myself!  The day of the test was worse as my test wasn't until 1:30, hopefully yours is earlier.  I wasn't allowed anything but sips of water until 2 hrs before the test, then nothing--I told my husband not to aggrevate me, I was having "food rage".  Oh well--good luck, hope everything goes well for you.

lol! food rage, I think I'll be there too! Lucky for me though my test is at 8:30 in the morning so I don't have to wait too long tomorrow.
