Not sure if this was the right place to post this (or the CD board), but you all have been an amazing support in the short week I've been on this board..

I'm just feeling very off. Highly Anxiety ridden...not sleeping at the right times of the day. Aching all over. (and, then the obvious gut pain).

Any advice? I think I'm going to schedule a massage. I'm drinking 40-60oz of gatorade a day to try and stay hydrated.

I think my nerves are just getting to me....but not sure what to do.

Kaycie-
When is your surgery? I would definitely get that massage. I wanted to get one before my surgery but I was too sick ( was afraid I would have to go to bathroom in the middle of this).

SO, go for it. As far as the anxiety, how do you feel about getting something for your nerves- Xanax? It has helped me deal with post surgery anxiety. Yeah- I got anxiety after surgery.....

Or if you are opposed to that try some linden tea, or chamomille, or Sleepy Time tea. Try a relaxation CD. I got one at Target and sick in a dark room and listen to the CD.

THanks Jackie - I have Xanax (2 strengths). I developed a severe anxiety (pacing floors, etc) the day after my girls' first birthday. If you read my siggy, but oldest twin daughter died shortly after birth. Their birthday was tough..and it hit me like a rock the day after. Plus, they tried to use Xanax to see if my high blood pressure was a result of my anxiety, so I have 2 strengths. .25 & .5.

The pre-op is the 16th, so next week. And, then surgery will be within 1-2 weeks following. I guess they don't schedule the surgery until after hte pre-op appt because it is such a huge decision and they want to make sure you understand what they are doing, because in my situation there is no going back.

Plus, my parents are wanting me to establish a will with an attorney. And, though I know it's important, especially with a young child, I am literally sickened by the thought. I will probably cry through that whole entire appointment!

Hi Kaycie--wishing you well. The xanax is a good idea--I started it 6 weeks before the surgery and still take it--thank goodness. Propanalol for headaches too. Don't be afraid to tell your doc about the anxiety b/c s/he should help you out. It's normal before surgery of any sort-especially this! As for the living will/power of attorney, freaked me out too and all I got to was the power of attorney but it's a very good idea and, in my opinion, should be done. I just resigned myself to thinking about it as another "thing" I had to do or "formality."
24+ years with Crohn's/colitis; fistulizing crohn's; ileostomy and proctocolectomy; propranolol and xanax; been on a ton of crohn's meds; praying to get through each day.

Yea, I know it's a great thing to do..especially with my little girl and since I absolutely do NOT get along with my MIL...my parents especially want me to make sure sue is well taken care of. I trust my husband, but he's a spendy kind of person..and I need to make sure there are funds to support Addy if the need arises.. plus I want to instigate some sort of rule in there so that my parents are a strong part of her life...because they have been since day 1. Plus, you know...all the posessions... there are certain things I want Addy to have.
