Hey guys!  Since my reversal on Mar 9, I have been doing great...that is up until about a week or so ago...it started getting horribly painful and sore around the stoma site!  I just thought I was doing too much.  I also noticed a pretty big lump (small lime- sized) around the stoma site as well.  I don't have to tell you how scared I was.  My first thought was...HERNIA...AGAIN!!!  I speculated and worried for a few days and then got sensible and went to see my surgeon.  He initally thought I had perhaps popped a stitch and the bowel was poking through (hernia eyes ) but he couldn't understand, if this was the case, why my bowels have been working so well.  He sent me for an ultrasound right away and they discovered a collection of fluid (??) there...NO HERNIA!!! smilewinkgrin .   But what was this fluid??  He wasn't sure so he stuck a needle in my stoma site and aspirated it.  cry    All that came out was some blood (not alot).  He asked if I had bumped my belly hard (nope...but I remember one of my furbabies stepping on it awhile back and it hurt like the dickens...could this be what happened??).  He thought that it was either a broken blood vessel or an abcess or both.  He gave me antibiotics and I go back to see him on Tuesday....Meanwhile, yesterday I was just puttering around the house and looked down to see my whole belly soaked in blood!!!  I was SO scared I totally panicked!!  Thank God my husband was home, and is such a grounding source for me.  It bled alot!!  Right out the little hole where he had stuck the needle!!  Once the bleeding slowed down I settled down as well. (I absolutely hate the sight of blood!!)  It drained through the night (not alot) and is still leaking this morning.  Now it is just watery-looking blood.  The whole area is so much better!!!  The soreness is now minimal and I actually feel better overall!!  I guess whatever was in there just had to be released!!  I probably should have gone into Emerg yesterday but firstly I was too scared to even move off the couch, and secondly, I just felt that it was the rest of the "stuff" he couldn't get out with the needle.
WHEW!!  That has been my weekend so far!! turn    I am always in the small minority of having the weirdest things happen!!  It never fails!!!
I will let you know what the Dr says after my Tuesday appointment!!!
Other than this little setback....things are still working really well, and I am so happy I had the reversal done!!!   Thanks for letting me share with y'all!!! ..........Cheryl

Thanks girls!  I go see the surgeon tomorrow.  Still taking the antibiotics.  I am feeling SO much better though and the lump is much smaller, although a small one remains.  I still have abit of bloody output from the stoma site so that's probably a good thing.  I will let you know what he says tomorrow.  Wish me luck! :-)
