Elli-

Thanks for asking.... Monday, I was ready to go ... by the end of the day I was soooo tired, but I made it. Feeling less tired as the week has gone on.

It feels good to be productive again and emptying the bag at work isn't bad at all.

How are you doing???

Thats great news - I am glad you are coping OK with it all.

I had a meeting with my doctor today and she is happy for me to go back to work on the 18th of this month (just over a week away).

I am worried about emptying in work as i dont want people to be going "you can tell Elli has just been in here".  But I have got some good pouch drops which seem to work very well.

I am doing half days for the first week.  Have your energy levels taken a big hit? I am so use to having an afternoon nap now!!

Onwards and upwards as they say!!

Well done :)

I have been very tired this week as expected, but different than when I was sick. I had also been taking naps during my recovery and I do miss them.

However, overall I feel pretty good.

Ex-uc

I am doing pretty well. I am tired by the end of the day, but I have so much more energy than I did before the surgery. I also feel so happy to be off of the meds. Now I just take my synthroid, lexapro and protonix- compared to 20 pills a day, this is great.

Still having some UC symptoms since the surgeon left my rectum and part of sigmoid until next surgery, but I only go to bathroom 1-2 a day compared to 15.

Really getting used to the bag. Still not loving it but hey it's not that bad.

I know your surgery is coming up soon.. I am curious about the tests they do before the takedown. The doctor mentioned some kind of scan or something like that???

How are you doing? Going back to work soon or waiting until after takedown?

Take care

Ughhh .. what can i say .. it's been a tough road .. or what seems like it!
I'm not back at work .. I get tired really easily. I'm off until after the takedown which is scheduled for June 3rd.

I was back in the hospital last week with an infection, fluid buildup around the JPouch. Had high fever .. they caught it and now I'm on yucky antibiotics for 10 days.

I had my pouch-o-gram (which was really cool by the way), and I do not seem to have any leaks which is encouraging.

Funny thing is my 10 days of antibiotics lead me right into another CT Scan to check if the fluid is gone, and then a pouchoscopy to just make sure that everything is ok again before they do the surgery. Dr. Weiss is extremely thorough. This all happens next week, 3 days straight of being at the Cleveland Clinic !!

I'm tired of being home ... but I'm feeling better other than the Cipro and Flagyl making me feel yucky !

Glad to see you're good :-)

PS: I still can't private message you ... :-/

I am sorry you have had trouble- but I am glad the pouch is in good shape and I am glad that Dr. Weiss is so thorough.  Just a couple more weeks... Are you nervous? You know you will have to keep me informed about the ins and outs of the pouch :)))

I can't figure out the messaging thing. Looked everywhere. Can you guide me in the  right direction?? shocked
