I had an abdominal abscess drained 2 days ago and now have a drainage tube. Its nearly impossible to reach a nurse or doctor on a weekend so is it normal for that area to be sore after that kind of procedure? It hurts to cough or move a certain way.
Crohns 30 years. Ileostomy for 15 years. Symptom free for 14 years until 8 months ago. Now on Remicade, B-12 injections and iron. Feeling much better!

My last one was sensitive the entire two weeks I had it...I had to be careful how I moved and how I attached the "grenade" to my clothes.  Do you have any pain meds?  I wouldn't be too concerned as long as you are not running a fever, discharge is "normal" and the pain isn't off the charts.
