I have a colostomy. Biggest thing: be patient, physical and mental recovery MAY take some time. Learn all you can about having an ostomy ... hopefully you have a good ET nurse. Pamper yourself if you can. Don't feel bad to ask for help if you need it but get up and at it as soon as you feel like it. Buying a PRETTY non frumpy outfit that is comfy while recovering helps a bunch too ;-) Good luck. Keep in touch with this group - they are wonderful.

Walk! When you've walked all you can, walk again...it really does help!

I'll be thinking of you and sending good vibes your way. Hang in there you really will feel better and that helps the mind, too:)
