Ok, so I know a lot of us out there have had these surgeries where they rip our stomachs open from navel to pubic bone. And some of us have had it more than once.  Have you ever noticed that your stomach now looks like a butt crack??  So in honor of our scars and to get a little laugh out of our unfortunate experiences, I thought I'd name us the BCB Sisters. (Butt Crack Belly Sisters) What do you think, are you with me?  Let's laugh at ourselves for a moment, shall we??

Well, I want to be the first one to second Amanda's post!! I am right there with ya, girl. Quite a unique belly tatoo, huh? But we are survivors and that is our trophy of sorts.

(Told ya I'd be the first one!)

BTW, the surgeon can do some cosmetic surgery when they open you back up by cutting out the old scar and making a brand new one.  Like removing it to make a clean incision.  Some do, some don't.  Mine did.

Amanda and I were chatting on FB, whining in unison yesterday, both wallowing (sp) in misery - I think I was having a sympathy kink/partial blockage in her honor :) , and this subject came about! I hope you all are still grinning when you see the thread topic on the list. I know I am! Happy Weekend! Looking forward to doing as little as possible.

You ladies crack me up! tongue I had a butt crack belly until my most recent surgery, when my surgeon - without even asking - gave me a "tummy tuck" and flattened it out!
Can I still be a member of the BCB sisterhood? smurf

Oh I've got one too. A lovely thing to behold - NOT!!!

I also have a two inch scar near my left ovary, this one is horizontal, left of my navel obviously, where my temporary colostomy was located too. Yup, bikini bottoms are out. NOT, that I'd feel comfortable wearing one again (size 8 now and well, age 54 ya know.....LOL).

Somewhere on my right hand side much lower than my right ovary are 4 tiny scars where they took out my gall bladder too.

Yup, my entire stomach is like a road map. To where? DUMPSVILLE!

Hilarious thread, I needed this today! Thanks Amanda.
Marsky/Mary's story.....
- Diagnosed with rectal cancer, April 1999 - Stage I, no treatment necessary
(5 hour colon resection: 90% sigmoid removed, 15 inches of colon removed, gall bladder removed, given temporary colostomy)
- Colostomy reversal, June 1999
- Left with IBS/D symptoms, multiple bm's every day
- On a low residue diet at least 75% of the time
- Takes Colace 50 mg each evening

All in all I do okay, I just use the bathroom A LOT! But I survived and beat cancer!

Cece,
You know, you are always welcome in our club -- afterall, you are a previous member. Once a member, always a member! But you will have to tell your surgeon about this thread and what a champion he is for "flattening" you out!

YEP - still smiling! I, too, needed a smile. I haven't shared this thread with my husband yet. He already knows I'm a little off. No reason to provoke that any more!!! jk (LOL)

Cece you are so lucky! I wish my surgeon would do that! She's an excellent surgeon but I doubt she'd even give me a "clean" scar if I asked. So, I'm in the club forever. BCB sisters it is!!
