Are you feeling so good now, that you're eating what you want, and as much as you want? (I had that problem after surgery-I had to get a handle on it fast)
I know with constipation, you can be nauseated and not necessarily want to eat.
Are you on any meds?
If neither, maybe you should see the Dr. about getting your thyroid checked.

That is my biggest fear! Getting fat now that I can eat everything. It seemed like the colitis kept my weight in check and now I know this summer could be the last time I get this unwanted "crash diet" (as my brother calls)!!

I just started to gain back my weight. I am now 119 and normally 130. Once I hit 125 I am putting on the breaks!!

Meds just stopped working so I took the problem out! No more colon and all kinds of excitement!

Getting healthy for many of us means gaining weight.  To lose weight is relatively simple.  Decrease calories and increase exercise.  It's the only way.  I have lost 25lbs since surgery and could use to lose another 5-10.  I do aerobic exercise 6 days per week and try to watch what I eat.  Weight Watchers can be a great place to start with a structured program.

i was super fat wheni was on steriods, then after i had my son i lost a ton of weight (was in a bad flare and the steriod weight had turned to water weight, easy to lose) and after i had surgery i was way too skinny.
I am sooo not way too skinny now! i have gained 50 lbs since surgery, i should lose about 20-30,i mean im far from obese but i got a roll, lol
My problem now is i can eat whatever whenever and thats what i do!

I too am going through the weight fluctuation. I always thought I could stay at one weight I would be healthy, but the last year I have lost 30 pounds now I am really quickly regaining that.

Hey Sue - when you do aerobics does it irritate the skin under the bandage. I love to jog, but I find it hard to stay motivated out of fear for my seal, and showering again, plus sweating. I have tried it a couple of times since surgery, I have just ordered the coloplast flange being all plastic I was hoping that woudl make a difference? Any suggestions.

Sue,

I don't have an ostomy any longer; I have a jpouch.  However, I am sure you can try things to improve your seal for exercise.  I have heard that wearing an ostomy belt  helps as well as Eakin seals.  Maybe post a question to this on this board for advice.
