Sorry I haven't been on sooner. It has been an exciting and scary road but I am finally home. After I was readmitted back into the hospital after my ileostomy reversal they thought I has ileus and some inflammation. It turns out that I had an infection of three different types of bacteria one being e.coli. I had emergency surgery where they sliced my gut open 12 cm and cleaned out 500mL of pus and bacteria stuff...gross! They had to move around my spleen, liver, gall bladder etc. It was everywhere. I woke up and had another NG tube for 5 days :( I'm slowly coming back to normal. I have been eating little bits and feeling okay. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks and 2 days. I just wanted to let everyone know I'm okay now. Except for the running to the bathroom all the time I'm finally doing good!

Thanks for all the fb messages! They sure did help!

So glad to hear you are home and can let the healing begin.  Take it easy and don't do anything too soon, just let your body heal; you've been through A LOT!!!!

Hope you feel better soon:)

Woo Hoo! I'm so happy you're home!! Isn't it wonderful to sleep in your big, comfy bed and not be woken up every couple of hours to have your blood pressure taken? Enjoy eating whatever you want! :)

Best of Luck to you in your HOME recovery. Take it slow, and build up your strength as you begin eating again. Don't get discouraged or impatient. you've been thru a lot so give your body time to respond. thanks for updating us,

it'll depend on what you can tolerate...can you do protein drinks? Drinking them between meals will help:)

High calorie, low sugar/low fat -- to combine all 3 of these is a dance!! Basically, try different items and see what exactly your body will tolerate. You will gain it back in time. Eat frequently (constantly!!!) small meals instead of just a couple of larger meals. Good to have you back!
