hi, im new to this so forgive me if i mess up here. i happened upon this site trying to find out about stiz markers. this is an awesome place. i have been suffering with constipation for almost 18 yrs. Im going to be 55 yrs old next month. im currently under a colorectal surgeon's care. he is doing a complete study on me. GI suggested removal of sigmoid colon. surgeon wants to find out what's wrong but he did indicate that i can be treated and that surgery is a possibility.

I have had defography, anal mame. and am going thru the stiz markers now. i am on day 3. ive not had a bm since sunday. according to the xray i have 23 left. the report says "progressing" whatever that means. i have been diagnosed w pelvic floor dysfunction. biofeedback did not work for me. i think i just want relief. does anyone know if there is a surgical procedure for pelvic floor dysfunction? from everything ive read if i were to diagnose myself i would say i have colonic inertia. it seems like i can relate to everyone of you. i'm so grateful for this information.

Hi and welcome,

There are quite a few people on the Total Colectomy post that have pelvic floor dys. You may want to go on there and post.  I know they will be more than happy to talk with you about it.

I wish you the best with the rest of your tests; Hope to see you on the Total Colectomy site,

Judy

Thanks OHI076.

Judy - I have to say from reading the posts on Total Colectomy, I don't know if I'm ready for that yet. Since your surgery has the bloating left or is it about the same?
