Here's the deal. I had corn on the cob Monday, it's now Friday, which was awful for my gerd but that's a different story. I have a colostomy. So you know how corn comes out the same way it goes in, well it hasn't come out yet. I thought it usually takes a day for food to move through. Should I take a softener? I've been having awful stomach cramps, mainly at night and not sure if it's cause I'm backed up or from the gerd.

well i have an ileo and my transit time is abotu 45 minutes. So tops for me food is in a couple of hours.
im not sure with a colostomy, but i would think since monday it shoudl have come out by now. Is it possible it came out and you didnt see it? But anyway, if you are having cramps and not much output you should call the dr.
Hope you feel better

Well with my gerd acting up I haven't really been able to eat much so I don't have alot of output to begin with. Maybe I'll try taking a softener and see how things move along. I just haven't taken anything like that since I had the surgery, a little leary.

have you been drinking lots of water? Anytime i dont have alot of output or thinks something might be stuck, i do some serious water chugging.

And have you tried protonix for your gerd?

Water, water and more water seems to help me. I get sick of water. Heard about crystal light being good and bought some today. Yum flavored water.

Well I've been taking Dulcolax and nothing is happening. I talked to my dr about it and she pretty much blew it off as a side effect from all the meds I've been on. I can't drink water as it makes my gerd act up like something fierce! I'm almost tempted to take a stimulant lax but I remember the awful cramps those bring on.
