hey. this is Liza's husband and she's been feeling pretty sick lately. does anyone know about vomiting and if it could be a blockage if she has slow output (liquid)? it happens after meals. is there anything you could suggest to settle her stomach. she's been having both pain and nausea. she's also very careful about blockages with her diet so we don't think it's a blockage. any ideas/suggestions?

Have you/she called the doc? It sounds like it could be a partial blockage. I think it would be better safe than sorry...obstructions are nothing to mess around with!

A start would be to go to clears and see if the vomiting stops. Keep us posted and be careful!

Just got home from hospital following similar symptoms. Mild stomach ache that progressed to inability to eat and limited to clears. Reluctantly asked the wife to take me to the ER at 400am and thought I only needed to be hydrated with an IV, pain meds and time.

A CAT scan showed an obstruction and I had surgery that day to correct. I was very lucky-my Dr. did the procedure via laprascopic and I was released from the hospital in 2 days.

My advice, do not hesitate to go to the hospital. Not worth the risk of blockage, loss of blood supply and subsequent surgery to removed damaged intestine section.

Vomiting is indication of a full blockage and should be taken very seriously. The signs of a partial blockage are difficulty in passing stool, small amounts, general abdominal discomfort. A partial obstruction can be managed at home by laying off food, drinking fluids, and walking until it passes.

Thanks guys.

I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow. In the mean time, I'll be drinking my meals. Thanks for the advice.

I have been looking on-line and I just want to know... Like, I get nauseous sometimes when I eat but not every time. I also still have out put... Could this just be an upper GI ulcer from my past?

I am so hungry!
