reversal gonna be sooner rather than later!

Hi All, well had a hell of a night last night ended up in hospital with my whole stomach burnt from leaking stoma the pain was awful was given morphine. the surgeon came to see me and is going to to speak to my surgeon about getting this thing reversed within the next two weeks finally someone is seeing how much of a hard time i have with this nightmare thing just thought i'd let you know. Diagnosed with crohn's at 13 now 42
resection, right hemi 1993 In remmision from 93 till last sept with no meds or docs
2 resections small bowel  and fistula jan 09 and given temp stoma.  reversal 1st week of Jan. Meds:Pentasa 500mg 3x day,  B12 shots, every 3 months, iron syrup,loperimide,folic acid,  citalopram 60mg (for Anxiety.)

Good Luck Bev, hope everything works out the way you hope it will. I understand the burnt skin and tummy pain and it ain't fun to say the least. Keep us posted on what's going on with you.

Omg, good luck to you Bev. My stoma leaked for the first time monday night, again wednesday night and then this (thursday) morning at my daughter's doctor appointment- nightmare!! My skin has broken down sooooo much the past 4 days and now it is really red and irritated! I am also hoping for a quicker reversal. We will see....

Hope all goes well and your reversal gets scheduled!

Glad to hear it will be soon, Bev, but sorry you are in so much pain:( Keep us posted!

Wow, Bev, I'm so sorry to hear that you ended up in the hospital, but am glad you're gonna get the reversal done soon! You'll be dancing around the Christmas tree this year! :-)

I'm praying that the surgery goes perfectly.

Dx'd Crohn's in '99 at age 28. Proctocolectomy and ileostomy in '06.
Disease-free and medicine-free since surgery and very thankful to be healthy again.
