I came home last night, from having surgery last friday. Friday really sucked, as far as pain control. don't get me wrong, they did there best, to get my pain under control, it was just very very diffictult. My surgeon, and the nurses worked together to get my pain under control. The incision, wasn't a big pain, it was the horrid muscle spasms, where he attached the mesh. My surgeon came by friday afternoon to check on me, and added two meds for spasms. :) plus increased the amount for my pca. Saturday was better, especially after the toradol was added, and sunday was more or less a drug induced bliss. Monday, stunk, I felt like, ok, if i'd just puke, i'd feel better. NOTHING was sitting good on my stomach, and I kept walking, hoping that would help get things moving. Well, don't worry I didn't disappoint!! at around midnight, I did puke everywhere!! After a dose of wonderful phenergan, I was out for the night, and skipped breakfast, even with the chocolate milk I had been wanting the day before so badly waiting for me. I had another dose of phenergan for breakfast, and finally woke up enough to eat lunch. I felt a lot better by then, and got up and started getting ready to go home, because I suspected this wouldn't keep me in the hospital. Anyway, I was just getting ready to walk, when I hear hello Dr. R. and I knew, I may as well hold off on the walk, my doctor has arrived. I called, a friend later on to ask her to go pick up my cpap, that I left in my room, and she asked if i'd taken a pain pill, yes, half a one about 6 hours ago, and I was still slurring my words. they wonder why I don't like taking them!!! I woke in some pain this morning, and am still in pain, but don't want to take anything. It went better than I expected. i'm so glad to be home!!
