since the doctors tv show didnt choose my ostomy suggestin the first time around, i reposted it!
im kind of mad, they cover flipping tummy tucks and lip plumping surgeries constantly.  They even had one about a woman who thought her nostrils were funny looking!
So anyway, i reposted, go vote, again, if you get a chance please!
thanks!

Yeah, Dr. Oz is more real. The Doctors has just glamour stuff it seems.

alright well i sent this

I would like to see a segment on ostomies. I belong to a website where we answer and ask questions about ostomies constantly. And there is so much misinformation out there on ostomies that people are suffering needlessly and pumping their bodies full of dangerous drugs, because they are scared. We have all noticed that the medical community is uninformed, at times dangerously, about ostomies. There are so many people who can have their quality of life restored by these operations, jpouches, permanent ileostomies or colostomies or urostomies. But they are scared because they think they will be smelly, or gross, or people will be able to tell! Please do a show with real, everday people with ostomies who can show those who need accurate information. That information could change, even save, peoples lives.
Thank you for considering this idea.

i hope thats ok, its the best i could do off the top of my head!

Summerstorm,
This is a great idea but are those ''doctors" for real? If I saw one of them walk into the room I'd be concerned. Boufanty hair and perma air-brushed like. I don't know if they'd do ostomies for the reason you've mentioned it's important (not a "sexy" topic). It would be great to hear from people who have gone through a disease process, have ostomies and figure out what their day to day lives were like in relation to caring for them. My main concern for my daughter is not the stigma of growing up with an ostomy because while this certainly must exist I believe it's my job to ensure she is confident and able to handle the ignorance she might encounter. I'm worried about the pain of surgery and potential complications which might be irreversible. It would be great to have an in depth discussion about this. I have to say I'm quite educated, have many friends and family in medicine, have had too many friends and family in hospital for very serious conditions and I did not know what an ostomy or a stoma was when my daughter was diagnosed in August. Never heard of it. It's just not information that is "out there".

Well they are real doctors with medical degrees, but they are more inclined towards the popular stuff. However we might get lucky!
There is so little info out there and what is is usually wrong. thats why i wanted to try this in the first place and why everyone else has been so helpful with supporting me. Hopefully, they will at least mention it on a show. The doctors show did do a colonoscopy on their show and take a tour inside a colon. they spoke briefly about UC and such then.
I have never watched Dr oz, so i dont know about his show

Unfortunately, The Doctors, just like any other TV  show, hold ratings in the highest regards.  I guess folks with ostomies don't make for higher ratings!!  It's a crazy world we live in!!!

Sally Jesse Rapheal  did a show on ostomies, years ago., but I can't find the clip on youtube.

I voted, but I agree, Dr. Oz would be better (Oprah always has him on and he has his own TV and radio show). He is NOT afraid to approach ANY subject. Talks about poop A LOT!
