Hello everyone,  I had my Sitz Marker test x-rays today.  The tec showed me the x-ray and all of my markers are in my ascending colon except for 2 others in my transverse.  My doc had said if they they show up there then he would probably remove the whole colon, but I have not been back to chat with him yet, cuz he does not have the results as of yet.

My question is?  If they take the whole colon plus whatever else, do they take your rectum?  I know that I want the BICR one, I guess I think anyways...seems the lesser of the evils.  Need input...thank you ..

Leslie, mine was almost the same...15 in the ascending colon and the rest were in the transverse colon...they were all on the left side and hardly moved. This finally gave me a dx of colonic inertia.

Do you have pelvic floor dysfunction? Does your rectum work? Because my rectum does not work, so, I am going to have the BCIR procedure. They remove the entire colon and rectum for this procedure.

Hi Leslie!

I wish I had an answer for you but I don't know enough about that yet.

I too, had the Sitz Marker study. All 24 of mine were retained in my colon as well. 5 in the sigmoid colon and 19 in the decending colon. Do you (or anyone else) know what this means?

I was having chronic diarrhea w/blood and mucus but for the last few months very minimal BM's with mucus. I really don't know what all this means. Any information anyone can share would be most helpful.

Leslie - good luck with whatever approach you agree to. I hope you find resolution and begin feeling better.

Lovemyyorkie, thanks so much.  Well I know from the x-ray that probably18 in the aseding colon all gathered down there in the pelvic region, meaing low and not high up.  The other 2 one is in the transverse, and one in the decending.  From what my doc said before the test that if I had any left in my colon he said that my colon is not moving things along properly..called peristalitisis, if I spelled it right, and that the whole colon would have to be removed, but have to wait for hm to get the results...

answers4meTDR  yes they are calling it a pelvic floor disorder,  my internal sphincter in the rectum is not working right and the outer one is clamped down so tight nothing will come out.
So now since I have been out of the hospital still no bm's and its 12 days now , it was 19 when I ended up in the hospital at the end of last month.
I guess we are writing too long of posts, so I will end this with saying thank you to all of you for your constant help and support and prayers.  They are truly appreciated...Leslie  OH PS.  I drank a bottle of citirus of mag, today and its been 6 hrs and nothing has happened yet...

Leslie, I have the same problem with the rectum...my doctor calls it ANISMUS! And it is a horrible way to live. My rectum stays closed and does not open for defecation, to pass gas, to pass water, it opens for nothing. But, I can control the colonic inertia with the use of mega doses of miralax. Citrus of magnesium works for me too....When you do finally go is it liquidy? Because the miralax melts the poop down and then I just have to worry about how I am going to get it out. GROSS and time consuming.

Oh yeah Leslie, the limit is on signature lines, not what we write to each other.

Yup, my butt will not harld do anything.  Cit of Mag does not always work for me but the most things dont, I drank a bollte in the am today and still do not have anything to show for it, except more bloating, and worse cramps....  Usually I do a enema every other day to get the air out first then everything else is liquidy mostly never firm stool ever. but the enemas no longer work so I am in a world of hurt if this stuff dont go through me.

My daughter is arriving from Calif tomorrow for the weekend and I am so sick right now, that if I dont go I will not beable to enjoy her visit, or go anywhere...so I pray it works by morning...

Leslie, any luck? I hate the days when I am waiting for the laxative to take effect because I really need it to and it doesn't...this usually leaves me stuck at home just waiting and wasting my time. Pisses me off!

Does anyone else find that the laxatives make them super nauseous? That is one reason I hate to take them. There are times that I would just rather bloat up like a balloon than subject myself to that, along with all of the discomfort of constipation. Going to go buy Miralax today. It is the one thing I have not tried. Enema's don't work, so...
