By rectum do you mean sigmoid? If so, I'm missing 90% of my sigmoid, I had rectal cancer. I experience multiple bm's per day. As long as I eat solids.
I manage my symptoms and strive to keep the stool formed by eating a low residue diet, taking a mild stool softener, greatly reducing my stress level, etc. And eating organic yogurt daily.
My surgeon said I will always have multiple bm's, since internally there isn't a place for stool to collect, back up, etc. It has to come out. So once I faced this fact, I decided to eat a very specific way to keep the stool formed and not messy or D.
And oh yes, take the above post with a grain of salt. There isn't one product out there that will fix all of us. Don't fall for that. For me it was a combination of the above. We all have to try different things - low or high fiber, etc. What works for one person may not work for another or even a high percentage of us. Be wary of what this new member is touting, I am.
