Hi guys!  I haven't been on much b/c I am so super busy with work and school...I literally haven't showered in over two days shocked b/c I've been strapped to my laptop trying to get caught up on everything...sorry...TMI?...but don't judge nono I'm sure you guys have gone trashy before too!  yeah

Anyway in the midst of my recent insanity I have been able to stay focused on some things that have really stuck in my mind lately...

...the high water level in toilets! I've said this before and I'll say it again, that is such a wet mess!  I hate it!  Do you think that if I start lowering the level in the toilet at my office a little each week no one would notice?  I'm serious!  I use that bathroom almost as much as the one here at home!  I just hate have toilet water splashed up on the *whistle up and whistle down*  blush

...I can see my body again!  When I looked in the mirror after receiving Penelope all I saw was my accessory and my body image was extremely distorted.  However, just in the past month or so I am able to see MY body!  Granted it's not a glamorous or amazing body, but it's mine...and holy hell has it been through some battles!  Scars left and right from pregnancy, a c-section, and the laporoscopic proctocolectomy...and then there's my accessory...what a load to look at!  wink   However, I am very grateful to actually have the 'vision' to see my body again...it feels really good.

...I am able to speak more openly about my ileo and use it as an informative tool for awareness.  I will be presenting in class about couples and chronic illness, and always do I include personal experience when focusing on anything that involves UC or the surgery.  So, we'll see...I am always nervous that someone listening to my presentation will be closed minded and not accept my differences  nono  However, this is for a counseling program so really I dare someone to approach me with flack!

...I'm still running at least 2-3 times a week, tomorrow I hope start making it a daily ritual again.  However, I can make a total of 2 miles!  I am not losing weight b/c I am a total foodie and just adore to oink out.  However!  I forced my husband into starting a healthy eating plan for two weeks straight before have a day of the See Food Diet.  I think we can do it...we did it before...the only difference is that I'm too busy to make all the meals, so he's going to have to step it up, which I know he will b/c it's grilling season!  YUM!!!!

I'm sure there are more fun things to chat about, but I just started thinking about all the paperwork devil I have yet to do, so I guess I should pay that some attention.

I hope you are all doing well, and enjoying this amazing spring season!

(hugs everyone!)

I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you and that you're keeping busy!
I think it's immeasurably important to be as upfront with people as your comfort level allows, so I do believe it's an awesome thing that you're giving a presentation and aren't going out of your way to avoid discussing your own medical issues. Good for you! If more people were unapologetic and honest about having ostomies, then maybe some of the stigma and "shamefulness" wouldn't be such a struggle for some people? Every little bit counts, right?

Cheers!
