Just thought I would let you guys know, since everyone has always been so caring of Dillon in the past. He was out skateboarding Saturday( which is a blessing since before he had his surgery he could not to this) and fell and broke his collarbone. CRAP! I know this does happen to people and that I have to get out of the "UC mind-set" .... but.....I wonder if all the time on prednisone is a factor here???....hmmmmm confused

I would say no, it was not because of prednisone use. My friend in college broke her collarbone sand skiing. Yep, sitting on a skateboard and sliding down a mountain of sand. My brother broke his collarbone falling off a bicycle doing a standing turn (bike was not in motion). Neither of them had ever been on prednisone. It's just a unlucky set of circumstances.

My three year old broke her collar bone this past summer (actually, I was dancing with her on the lawn, we both feel, she broke a bone, I was horrified). Anyway, she's never been on any drugs. The ER doc said it was one of the easiest bones to break and in her case it healed up completely within a month.
Glad to hear he's out and about!

Sorry to hear that but when I was young back in Michigan we were ice skateing and I fell and broke my collar bone too...I think its just a easy bone to break...they will put him in a sling and it will heal and he will be just fine....
