I have had ulcerative colitis for 25 years. 13 years ago I had a liver transplant. My transplant doctor is adament about getting my colon removed before the year is up even though my yearly colonoscopy has been good with no signs of dysplasia.

Because of the immunosuppressant meds I am on, I think her concern is colon cancer and she feels that it is different from others with UC who are not transplant patients. Is this something anyone has ever heard before?

I am 44 and in relatively good health. I happened to be the one person who NEVER lost weight from UC and in fact gained. Go figure....

Any info or suggestions out there would be much appreciated!
