Hi everyone, I need your help. I have a bag now and I have some questions. Its been 2 months since surgery and I'm still tired and not as strong as I would like. How long does it take before you gain your strength back. I have gained 40 pounds . I'm very tired and sometimes cant get up in the morning. In the afternoon I become very tired. Should I drink more fluids. I just don't feel like myself. I'm still on 3 mgs of steriods and going to 0 in two weeks. Any ideas? Thamks, Joe

I also just had ileostomy surgery. I am only 3 weeks post-op.  I am also very tired and not myself.  I have had other intestinal surgery since I was diagnosed with crohn's.  This by far is the most difficult recovery.  I am still taking pain medication.  The pain is improved but if I do something like make dinner or fold laundry, I am very sore and exhausted.  Give yourself a break.  Some people take longer to heal.  You mentioned that you gained 40 pounds.  Is this a positve for you?  I couldn't tell from your post.  Give yourself more time.  Two months isn't really that long to recover and adjust to such a radical change your body just went through.  Hope you get better soon.
