Youch !  Any words of wisdom on dealing with the rawness after the take down.  I know it is a part of the process, but really starting to get to me.  I have tried the Preparation H Towlettes, Witch Hazel wipes, Convatec Aloe Creme, Desitin, Barbasol Creme and a variety of other creams to help with the healing and cooling of the lower region.  Not much seems to be working.

A friend of mine is a nurse at a nursing home and she sent home some Calmoseptine which helps out some, but stings going on and I am at the point now it hurts to sit in a tub of water.  Also still trying to find my way around the foods as far as bulking.  Any words of wisdom are welcome.  I just keep telling myself that this will pass, but it is still difficult when the only position that is comfortable is sitting or laying down.  Standing makes me want to go.

The best ointment out there for this type of problem is Ilex.  Be sure to apply a thin film and then cover it with vaseline.  I have never tried it but I know of people who swear by it.  Things should settle down in time where it won't be needed as much.   You can hop on over to www.j-pouch.org for more recommendations.
