Has anyone used the EHOB Non-Adhesive Ostomy system? I have had skin problems so long and have tried almost everything to clear it up but have had no luck. I believe I am allergic to adhesive and may need to go with the non-adhesive system. What are the advantages and disadvantages to this system? Also, does the pouch have a velcro-like closures or do they only have tail clip closures only?
Thanks

Hi, LAP ... I'm really curious about the EHOB system, too.  Hope you'll get plenty of responses to this thread.

I actually phoned the company several months ago and the lady couldn't explain to me (or I couldn't understand) how it works without a sticky barrier.  And they don't offer samples.

Hi Martha,
Thanks for the quick response. I wanted to call the company to get some information before writing.
Their company's internet site said that you could call for a free sample but when I called, the CSR said the company is now having the consumer purchase their starter kits. If you don't like the product, they will give you your money back. This way, they get feedback from the consumer. The CSR said that this system doesn't work for everyone.
She said the way it works is there is a gel o-ring that fits around your stoma and the pouch sits on/around the o-ring and stays secure with the tension of the belt. Therefore you always must wear a belt.
If I decide this is my best chance at healing my skin and I do try it, I will let you know.
Good luck.

So... did you order the starter kit?  You certainly got more information from the company than I did.  I look forward to hearing how you like the system and how it works for you.

I don't have skin problems, but get really frustrated with my Convatec barrier... would be so nice to get into the shower without anything stuck to my belly.  Irrigation is an option with my colostomy, but I'd still need something to hold a stoma cap.

Let us hear how it goes for you ... :-)   Martha
