working out after surgery

Hey all just wanted to check in here i am trying to figure out how to do some abdominal work post surgery i hade an iliostomy a year ago and had hurnia surgery 2 months ago.  i unlike many with chrons cant seem to keep weight off (all disease is in my large intestine) and need to loose some weight.  Any suggestions.

As for ab work, check with your surgeon. 

However since it's weight loss you want try doing aerobic exercise.  Swimming, brisk walking, running, or hiking will all help to boost your metabolism and burn calories.  There is no secret or tricks to weight loss, it's all about reducing calories and increasing exercise.

dx proctitis in 1987
dx UC in 1991, was stable until 1998
1998 started prednisone, asacol, pentasa, nortriptylene, ativan, 6MP, rowasa enemas and suppositories, hydrocortisone enemas, tried the SCD diet, being a vegetarian, omega 3s, flax, pranic healing, yoga, acupuncture, probiotics
2000 lost all my B-12 stores and became anemic
2001 opted for j-pouch surgery- now living life med-free
