Has anyone ever had to do a transit study who also has outlet syndrome. No laxatives or enemas for 5 days, see if the sitmark rings travel. Will they if the outlet is blocked and bowels don't move for a week?

Yes. I had one done last year, just before having mucosal prolapse removed (which by the way didnt help). if you are chronically constipated, the markers or rings wont leave your body in 5 days. i was surprised that all three of my markers were by sitting just above the caecum obstructed by a lot of waste.

I have always 'gone' to the toilet every day and have done since myyouth, but apparently, i am chronically constipated?!! (does anyone get that?) i'm from london by t he way.

Hi lianakaren,
Thanks for your reply. Especially the tip about the mucosal prolaspe removal. God! Whatever I have done I want it to WORK! I don't understand this either. Tried rings once on normal food. 3 markers passed. 14 were in lower right colon cecum area by day 2. then had to take an enema as stool was half way out and couldn't stand the pain. Tried again on liquid diet and all markers whoosed out in 5 days due to diarrhea. Was surprised surgeon OK'd it. It gave false good result. I think anyway, I don't get this either. Thanks for your reply. Keep in touch. SIncerely, esoR
