I am a 19 yo male living in Mandurah Western Australia and HAving an Ileostomy on the 5th of june due to Crohn;s disease. Just wondering if anyone can offer any advice or tips as I am very frightened and depressed about the whole thing at the moment.
 
and has anyone got any advice on dating with a iliostomy and all the associated problems with having to show the person eventually etc.

I have had an ileostomy for 31 years now due to UC.

I have recently had a ileostomy,and in the past i have had my left kidney removed due to reflux from my urator,although it was re-implanted numerous times,it lead to continual infection.
I have also had a cystoplasty(using bowel)and at the moment this is causing problems due to the mucus..I am having treatment for bladder washouts
As much as i am finding it difficult to cope with,i have just been told that my husband wants to end our marriage..

I just had mine done on april 25th. I promise the apprehension prior to the surgery is a lot worse than after. I just had to get to the other side. Wishing u well.

Living with Crohns for 16 years. Numerous surgeries and hospital stays. Lots of fistulas and infections which caused a log of damage. Got the bag on April 25th 2007 and reconstruction which they took a muscle out of my thigh.
