Hi everyone I just got home Friday from my 10 day stay at the hospital.  I had my ostomy reversed and they were able to remove the abscess.  I had always suffered from constipating Crohn's with occasional flares causing diarrhea instead.  I find I have lots of cramping now even to the point of keeping me up at night.  I am on fentanyl patch, oxycontin, dialuded, and neurontin for pain.  I seem to have lots of Diarrhea now that I am reversed.  After each meal I find myself trying to get to the rest room in time.  For anyone that has had their ostomy reversed have you had these issues and they clear up?

I have had quite the opposite problem. I have historically had a lot of constipation and continue to have it. My temporary ileostomy was due to a perforated bowel ( from diverticulitis) and after reversal, I've had continued constipation.  I am not on several meds to help keep stool moving but I can't say things are back to normal. The reversal was a year ago this month and I still have issues.

I am so concerned about constipation due to my initial resection when my colon decided not to wake up. During past colonoscopies the GI did note that it was megacolonic and well it decided to turn to toxic megacolon after my resection. That led me to the ostomy and I had it reversed a cpl weeks ago. Today I have been having severe gas pains as I did last night. I am trying to figure out from what I ate at my folks house yesterday what may have caused it. I had D when I got home from their house but have yet to go today so far. I took a total if 2 colace since last night I have been on them due to pain meds and not wanting them to constipate me. I am wondering if it is a bad thing to use a suppository to aid in my having a BM to relieve some of this pain I am having
