Hello all,

I have had CD for 20 yrs and had 3 surgeries this yr the 2nd being the temp ostomy the 3rd being the reversal.  After my ostomy Sx I had many complications and was rare that I went a week without vomiting.  Since my reversal I have luckily only vomited 1 time but get nauseaus frequently.  I know if I dont eat I will vomit bile but if I do I feel bloated and still nauseaus.  Any tips or similar stories?

Dragonfly,
I'm so sorry you've had to deal with this. sad

Has your doctor run any tests to find out why you vomited so often with the ostomy and/or why you're so nauseous now? This isn't normal, and you need to find out the cause of this. After having Crohn's for over 20 years, you could have a narrowing of the bowel or an obstruction.

In the meantime, there are a variety of over-the-counter and prescription anti-nausea medicines that you can take to give you some relief, and make sure to drink plenty of fluids, so you don't get dehydrated. Hang in there, and keep us posted on how you're doing.

Take care,
Cecilia

They removed my sricture when I had the resection in February. I had complications and had the temp ostomy 1 week later. Had more complicatins with that one too. I had my reversal June 20th. I wonder if I have adhesions causing the problem. I luckily have not vomited in a cpl months but somethimes the nausea is bad. Some nights I still have to use my heating pad, and my joints are awful they have given me the most trouble through the years
